Aura joins first Anglo-Dutch Offshore Wind Roundtable Discussion

11th October 2017

John Weir, Aura lead for Talent and Business Engagement, recently joined a group of senior representatives from the offshore wind industry at the first Anglo-Dutch Offshore Wind Roundtable Discussion.

The event, which took place on 20 September, was hosted at the British Ambassador’s Residence in The Hague, and brought together a gathering of representatives from UK and Dutch industry, research and non-governmental organisations.

Weir explains;

“This event marks an important step in future collaboration between the UK and the Netherlands in the area of offshore wind, so to be invited and to take part was really valuable."

"Collaboration is a fundamental part of our ethos at Aura; we bring together industry, academia and research under the strands of research and development; talent and capability, and industry engagement. Our collective goal is to drive down costs and help grow the industry both in the UK and overseas and today’s discussions recognised and reinforced the drive across the sector to come together to help facilitate this.”

The full list of attendees included senior representatives from: Aura, Babcock, BVG Associates, Department for International Trade, DONG Energy, ECN, Ecofys, Eneco, Heerema FG, Innogy, JDR Cables, MPI Offshore, National Grid, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), NWEA, ORE Catapult, REnewableUK, Royal Haskoning DHV, Scottish Power Renewables, Smulders, TenneT, The Crown Estate, TNO and Van Oord.
