Aura team presents new thinking at Global Offshore Wind 2018
10th July 2018
Aura had a strong presence at the Global Offshore Wind conference in Manchester this year (19 – 20 June).
Four members of the Aura team presented at the conference and three Aura PhD students, Fiona Cox, Jon Huddleston and Ryan Spick, also presented posters at the event.
Gesa Reiss, Innovation Manager, presented a thought-provoking presentation outlining some thoughts as to why the UK's hydrogen economy has been late in taking off, called 'Building a Green Hydrogen Economy in the UK – why the delay?'
Louise Smith, Stakeholder Engagement Lead at Aura and David Wells, Specialist, Offshore Wind at the University of Hull, sought to provide some radical new ideas on diversity in the offshore wind industry; their presentation, 'New Industry, New Thinking' provoked good discussion during the Q&A session.
Finally, Stefi McMaster’s presentation on human factors set out her PhD research, which will be breaking new ground regarding 'Towards an Understanding of Mental Fatigue in the Offshore Wind Industry'.
