Located on the Humber, at the heart of the UK’s Energy Estuary, the UKRI £5million Aura Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) on Offshore Wind Energy and the Environment (funded by the EPSRC and NERC) will be led by the University of Hull, with links to the new £11 million flagship Aura Innovation Centre, in collaboration with the Universities of Durham, Newcastle and Sheffield.
Aura market analysis suggests a need for a further c.2,000 Level 7-8 qualified persons in the Offshore Wind Industry by 2032. The Aura CDT provides the pathway to meet this need, delivering training for the future leaders in offshore wind. By working closely with industry on their doctorates, the CDT will ensure innovative, relevant research, training and personal development for the students.
